Dan and Susan, founded Dun-Rite based on a philosophy that was "drilled" into Dan’s head when he was a kid ... and that is, "If you're 'gonna' do it, do it right or don't bother!"SM The first customer work order was written on August 9th, 1985. Today, over 55 employees, including family, carry on the legacy of "doing it right".

Early in our history, we developed ¼" thick solid wood cabinet refacing as a permanent alternative to total replacement. Our process is so unique, we call it "resurfacing" simply to have it stand apart from conventional refacing methods. We’ve used this "tried and true" process in thousands of kitchens and we still use it today, with door styles and stain colors changed to meet popularity.

As a result, complete kitchen redesign and remodeling, with all new, custom built cabinetry, has become a substantial part of our business. The finest custom counter tops have always been a part of our repertoire, however, this has also expanded greatly. We now custom-build granite, quartz, solid surface, tile, and laminate tops to your taste with a wide variety of colors, edge details, sink options, etc. Our designers are there to help guide you through. Bathrooms have always gone hand-in-hand with kitchens. So, it’s no surprise that we made the decision to utilize the experience and talents of our employees in our Bathroom Remodel Division. We’ll turn your old, tired, outdated bath into something beautiful, functional, and comfortable. click to view full size photo Dun-Rite is bonded and insured, and is an accredited member of the Better Business Bureaus in Denver, Colorado Springs, and the "Mountain States". We have literally thousands and thousands of satisfied customers as references. The "Golden Rule" philosophy of "Treat others as you want to be treated" has always been and will always be one of the Company’s core philosophies. Dun-Rite is a philosophy-driven, family-owned company. That philosophy is that we take care of customers exactly how we, ourselves, would want to be taken care of. We’ve discovered that not many companies adhere to this philosophy. As a result, it hasn’t really been very difficult for us to stand out from the crowd of contractors and to survive when others haven’t. It’s the simple things that make a difference: return a phone call, show up when you say you will, be on time, do what you said you were going to do, COMMUNICATE, be nice, treat people with respect, treat their homes with respect, provide quality products and outstanding craftsmanship at a fair price. They seem like "the basics" to us, but for whatever reason, it’s just not how most people do business these days. Maybe it’s because we’re a family business. Dan and Susan have five children and 11 grandchildren. Three generations of the family work in the business now. The family philosophy and the business philosophy are woven together in the Golden Rule. Dan’s engineering background has led us to our commitment that the only products we’ll supply are those we can stand behind and that we would put in our own homes. There are lots of products out there that people have requested over the years, but if we don’t believe in them - and wouldn’t put them in our own homes - we’re not going to sell them. Family is important to us, but we’ve got plenty of non-family people working here too . . . some for more than 20 years. They’re practically family and we’re proud to employ these good, honest, highly-skilled people Our company started out in Dan and Susan’s garage with the kids helping out wherever needed. Our "international headquarters" was the dining room table. And here we are, 25 years later, with a vibrant business and thousands of satisfied customers. We’re proud of that. Being proud of the business philosophy and the precision craftsmanship has made Dun-Rite the first choice in kitchens and baths for Coloradans for more than two decades. The Dun-Rite philosophy can be summed up in 5 words:Take good care of people.Call us today and let us take good care of you. |
