Custom Bathroom Renovation
You’ve decided it’s time to renovate your old bathroom and breathe new life into your space. You’ve researched and know for sure, the hardware store basic standard is not for you. You can have the custom bathroom you’ve always dreamed of! But what choices are there to make about your project? Let’s detail some of the things that will need to be addressed during your bathroom renovation.
The Remodeler:
First things first, sometimes the initial stages of a home remodel can seem overwhelming. This is where an experienced, first class remodeler comes in. Their job is to educate you on all these options and make your design process enjoyable, easy, and fun! You should be able to get a free, in home estimate, where you will receive a completely custom, all inclusive design plan that explains everything happening during your project. Once you’ve set your design appointment, here are some things to go over.
Layout:
Are you happy with the layout of your bathroom? Do you want to switch components around? You could convert a tub to shower, or enlarge the shower enclosure. You may be able to change the tub size too. Even if only one size tub will fit in the space, you can still get a deeper, soaker tub or jetted/ whirlpool, etc. What about enlarging a vanity, or adding double bowl sinks to the vanity? You could also add more cabinets, like over the toilet or a linen storage area. What if you want to add an all new bathroom where there isn’t one? There are always questions and options!
Shower / Tub area:
In the shower enclosure and/or tub area the walls have to be addressed. You can replace your old tile with new. You could also use a solid surface material to construct the enclosure. What color tile or material do you want to use? There are many beautiful accent options available as well. You can have niche and shelves built in, and grab bars can be installed for extra support too.
The Rest:
On the vanity, a color/wood species needs to be chosen for the cabinets and other shelving and trim, and also what kind of cabinet door design. There are choices for the countertop material too: granite, quartz, laminate, solid surface. Integrated sinks or china drop in? What kind and color/finish of faucets and trim? There are things like stainless steel, shiny brass, or bronze. You could add a handheld type of shower sprayer, or a more gentle rain head, or both. Do you want a comfort height toilet, new or additional towel bars and rings, and tissue holders? Would you like to add or replace the vent fan? Don’t forget the floor: tile, laminate, heated or not, and others.
Again, there are many, many options for a bathroom remodel. Call in an expert for your design plan and advice.
